A name, telephone number, or address entered into a search form is sent to the outside provider that delivers those results. Our servers do not retain a copy of those search terms. If you contact us, we receive the contents of your message and use them to respond.
Automatic Technical Data
Hosting systems create routine logs such as IP address, browser type, viewed pages, and timestamps. We review those data in aggregate for maintenance and audience measurement. Cookies or similar tools may support basic analytics and, where applicable, advertising measurement.
How Limited Data Is Used
We use this limited information to operate the reference, diagnose problems, measure traffic, and improve its pages. We do not sell visitor lists or create individual visitor profiles.
External Sites and Searches
Links lead to county and state portals, archives, library collections, and third-party search services. A destination’s own privacy terms govern data submitted there, including data entered into sponsored-result tools.
Service Providers and Disclosures
Hosting and support providers process server logs on our behalf. Analytics and advertising partners can receive the technical data described above. We disclose information only when valid legal process requires disclosure or as otherwise required by law.
Data Safeguards
The site uses an encrypted connection, and logs are retained only for the purposes described here. There are no user accounts, passwords, or visitor profiles maintained by this reference.

This reference is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect a minor’s personal information. If a minor has sent information to us, contact us so it can be deleted.
Your Privacy Choices
Qualifying consumers may have access, correction, deletion, and opt-out rights under the Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act, Va. Code §§59.1-571 et seq., subject to its scope and exceptions. Because this reference retains very little, a request normally involves checking the contact mailbox and applicable logs, then removing what we find. Use the Contact page to make a request. Public records kept by Virginia or Prince William County custodians are outside our control, and correction or removal requests for those records must go to the responsible office.
